A national competition for A level and Advanced Higher students, in which teams make an online presentation on a geoscience topic and the ten best teams go to a problem-solving Final at Burlington House in London. Entries to the Qualifiers close on 20 January 2027.
Entries are judged on scientific content and accuracy (50%), communication (25%) and creativity (25%). The ten highest-scoring teams are invited to the in-person Final, a team problem-solving activity judged by a panel, with travel reimbursement of up to £700 available. Prizes include £500 for geoscience education at school and one year of Geological Society student membership.
