A national idea contest in which junior high and high school students use the government's RESAS regional economy data to propose ideas that answer company-set 'inquiry missions' and revitalize their own community.
Run by a teacher-led committee that promotes the use of RESAS (Regional Economy Society Analyzing System) in schools. For the 7th edition two companies set missions (Panasonic Cycle Tech: ideas using electric-assist bicycles to energize the town by 2035; and Tri-Hoop Okayama), and each mission is judged separately. The organizer stresses that the aim is to connect students' ideas to real implementation rather than to prizes; winning teams receive support toward realizing their idea.
