Korea's top national merit scholarship for students entering a natural science or engineering degree at a four-year university in Korea or abroad, run by KOSAF.
The Presidential Science Scholarship identifies and supports outstanding students in science and technology. In 2026 KOSAF selected 77 domestic first-year students (63 general, 14 by regional recommendation), 20 overseas first-year students and 60 domestic third-year students. High-school graduates (or graduating seniors) qualify on their high-school math and science grades: at general high schools, at least 10 math/science courses at rank grade 3 or better (or 24 credit units); science high schools rank grade 4 or better; gifted schools A- or better. Candidates with equivalent qualifications (GED, overseas high schools) may also apply.
