Free public poster sessions at the Japan Geoscience Union annual meeting where high school (and junior high) students present earth and planetary science research to researchers, with awards for outstanding posters.
JpGU has held high school poster sessions as public outreach sessions since 2006. In 2026 there were two: O-12 (high school poster presentations in Japanese or English, judged with awards; teachers and outside researchers cannot be co-authors) and O-13 (an English-only international poster session for junior high and high school students, no awards). Students may also submit to regular sessions, which charge a submission fee.
