Gracon began in 2004 at Osaka City University and has been hosted by Shibaura Institute of Technology since 2023. Teams submit chemistry-based experiments, surveys or research; document screening selects finalists, who give oral or poster presentations at the final. Entrants can consult SIT faculty about methods before submitting. Top teams are invited to overseas science fairs (with travel support planned), and many company awards are offered. Presentations may be in Japanese or English.
