The IMC encourages mathematical reasoning, precision and fluency. Questions run roughly from easier to harder and most students are not expected to finish. All UKMT competitions are now paper-only. High scorers are invited to follow-on rounds: the Cayley, Hamilton and Maclaurin olympiads and the Grey and Pink Kangaroos; the top 1.5% are also in the lottery for the National Mathematics Summer School.
