NASA Space Apps Challenge is described as the world's largest hackathon: teams work on challenges provided by NASA, using skills in programming, analysis, engineering, design and management. The Tashkent local lead is Azamat Akhmedov (uzspace.uz address), and the 2025 Tashkent edition was organised by the Uzcosmos agency together with NASA. In 2025 more than 200 young people in over 50 teams worked on 20 topics in Tashkent; three teams won and three more were recognised in additional nominations.
