An annual national research challenge in which Canadian high school and CEGEP students use open data and AI to investigate a real-world problem, present at in-person conferences and have abstracts published in the STEM Fellowship Journal.
Teams develop a research question, analyze literature and datasets and carry out an AI investigation on a yearly theme (2026-27: biodiversity and land resilience using satellite intelligence). Participants submit an abstract, manuscript and poster, present at a national conference, compete for awards, and all abstracts are published in the open-access STEM Fellowship Journal. The organizer is a Canadian charity.
