A selective, largely funded five-day inquiry programme for junior high and high school students run by the University of Tokyo's RCAST LEARN lab with Porsche Japan, combining a learning-through-travel journey across Japan and a hands-on machine-repair programme.
LEARN with Porsche is a joint scholarship project of the University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (LEARN personalised-learning lab) and Porsche Japan that looks for young people who will take on future challenges. In 2026 the 'travel' programme ('A journey to notice flows') deliberately had no detailed plan, sending about 10 students around Japan to observe the flows of goods, people and time; the 'making' programme had about 10 high school and kosen students repair implements for a restored 1960s Porsche tractor and use it for hay cutting on a Hokkaido ranch, without manuals. Selection is not based on grades.
