IKMC 2027 is the 12th Vietnamese edition. Papers are written by mathematicians from more than 120 member countries of the Kangaroo association and used worldwide; in Vietnam they are bilingual (English–Vietnamese). The contest is sat at exam centres (schools) and has had more than 150,000 entries from over 1,000 schools since 2016.
