Ashinaga High School Scholarship (Grant), Advance Application for 3rd-Year Junior-High Students - April 2027 Entry
Ashinaga gives a non-repayable JPY 30,000 a month throughout high school to children who have lost a parent to illness, disaster or suicide, or whose parent has a grade 1-5 disability. 3rd-year junior-high students entering high school in April 2027 can apply online until 15 December 2026 (postmark for documents).

Ashinaga supports children who have lost parents or whose parents are disabled. The high-school scholarship is a grant (no repayment) of the same amount for national, public and private schools; about 1,100 students are selected by document screening. Advance-application awardees can also apply for an interest-free JPY 300,000 private-high-school entry loan. Last year 1,800 students applied for 1,000 places; the household income of advance awardees was JPY 3.54 million or less (four-person household).
