Since 2017 the Yanai Tadashi Foundation (founded by Fast Retailing's Tadashi Yanai) has supported Japanese students going to world-leading universities. The 11th admission-based call covers about 20 students a year at around 30 US universities, 18 liberal-arts colleges, 7 UK and 3 Canadian universities (others of equivalent level may be approved). Scholars join the foundation's community and publicity activities. A separate school-recommended track (yoyaku-gata) runs in summer.
