A yearly national school project in which students of Classes 3-12 write poems and essays, paint or make short videos about gallantry award winners and India's warriors. Veer Gatha 6.0 (2026-27) closes on 31 October 2026; the next edition has not been announced.

Project Veer Gatha was instituted in 2021 under the Gallantry Awards Portal to share the stories of bravery with students. The Secondary Stage (Grades 9-12) activity is a poem, essay (750 words), painting/drawing, multimedia presentation or short video on a gallantry award winner or a warrior of India. Best projects are awarded at national level by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education, coterminous with Republic Day celebrations. Participation was 1.92 crore students in Veer Gatha 5.0.
