A national writing contest run by the Korea Heritage Service's Hyeonchungsa Shrine Office: write a book report on Admiral Yi Sun-sin's war diary Nanjung Ilgi (a UNESCO Memory of the World record) or a travelogue of a related historic site.
Participants choose one of two categories: a book report on Nanjung Ilgi or a travelogue after visiting Yi Sun-sin-related sites across Korea. The middle/high school division awards the Patriotism Prize (Commissioner of the Korea Heritage Service), the True Talent Prize (Asan National Assembly member) and the True Leader Prize (Superintendent of the Korea Naval Academy). Winners may be selected as officiants at the 2027 birth-anniversary ceremony for Admiral Yi.
