A nationwide reading contest for school pupils in grades 1-11: participants register on kitobxonlikharakati.uz, read set books and take monthly online tests, and the best go on to regional and republican rounds with large cash prizes.
The National Reading Movement was set up by a Presidential order (F-33, 22 May 2026) as an annual three-stage national contest run by the Youth Affairs Agency together with the school education ministry. Each month pupils in grades 1-5 read 2 books and pupils in grades 6-8 and 9-11 read 5 books, then take an online test worth up to 100 points. The top 50 in each grade group go through to the regional stage, which has a 40-question test and, for the 6-8 and 9-11 groups, an essay. The republican final consists of a free-speech round and an essay.
