Income-linked government scholarship that reduces university tuition; graduating high-school seniors can apply in the first round before they know which university they will attend.
National Scholarship Type I is paid directly to students according to their household income bracket (학자금 지원구간), up to the cost of tuition. Incoming freshmen, transfer students and returning students can all apply. Applying in the first round is strongly recommended because the income assessment takes about eight weeks.
