Taiwan's Ministry of Education, through the Taipei Mission in Korea, offers Korean high school graduates aged 18+ a monthly stipend for six months of Mandarin study at a Taiwanese university language centre. The 2027 call has not been posted yet.
The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) funds six months of Mandarin study in Taiwan to deepen understanding of Taiwanese society and culture and Korea-Taiwan exchange. In 2026 there were 22 places for the general Korea track. Scholars must attend Mandarin classes regularly (absences of 12+ hours a month can stop payments) and attend the Education Division's study-in-Taiwan orientation in July.
