A Kyushu University Faculty of Science summer project that selects about four students each in chemistry and biology for a one-week, small-group university-level seminar and lab course, ending with a public presentation.
ESSP ver.2 is the Kyushu University Faculty of Science's own project to nurture future scientists. Experienced instructors run five days of intensive university-level seminars and experiments (about six hours a day) in chemistry or biology, assisted by undergraduate and graduate students, plus a talk by graduate students. Completers receive a certificate and, if they later enrol in the Faculty of Science, may apply to have the work counted as credits.
