USAMTS Year 38 has three rounds of five problems: one puzzle and four proof-based tasks. Students normally receive at least a month per round to research and write rigorous individual solutions; mathematical graders return scores and personalized feedback. The current page says Round 2 problems are released, due November 30, 2026, 22:00 Eastern/19:00 Pacific; Round 3 dates are unannounced. Round 1 is already past and is not advertised as open. New students may join Rounds 2 and 3. The full-year contest is a documented AIME/US olympiad pathway: current USAMTS policy says 68/75 qualifies and MAA 2027 policy recognizes AoPS nominations. A newcomer with no Round 1 score can earn at most 50/75 from the two remaining rounds, so this later entry alone cannot meet 68. Later AIME has separate eligibility/fees and is not guaranteed.
