BMO1 is the UKMT follow-on round to the Senior Mathematical Challenge. Six problems require full written solutions with complete proofs; one complete solution earns far more than partial attempts on all six. Rulers, compasses and set squares are allowed; calculators and protractors are not. About 1,000 students are invited from the SMC each year, and BMO1 is the entry point to training and selection for international olympiads via BMO2.
