Euclid has 10 questions mixing final-answer and full-solution problems, 2.5 hours, scored out of 100. It targets the final year of secondary school and CÉGEP, and its last questions are among the hardest CEMC sets. Top official participants in Canada appear on zone, provincial and national honour rolls; the top five in Canada receive plaques and $500 and the next ten $200, at CEMC’s discretion. Waterloo uses Euclid results in some math and science scholarship decisions, but writing it is not required for admission.
