A Ministry of Defence scholarship of Rs 2,500 (boys) or Rs 3,000 (girls) a month for children and widows of deceased or ex-service personnel of the Armed Forces who join technical or professional degree courses; 5,500 scholarships a year. A Himachal Pradesh state scholarship of Rs 18,000 a year for the top 2,000 girls in the Class 12 (+2) board result in Science, Arts or Commerce who go on to a degree, diploma or certificate course.
